Schools & Youth-Serving Programs

A trusted support pathway before a hard moment escalates.

Sponsored access gives students and young people a trusted, prevention-focused connection earlier, working alongside, never in place of, school counselors and clinical staff, so more young people find support before a hard moment escalates.

Alongside counselors

Extending support, never replacing staff.

Who this is for

Educators and programs expanding prevention.

This path is for districts, schools, and youth-serving programs interested in expanding prevention and trusted connection for the students and young people they already serve.

School districts & networks

Educators interested in extending student wellbeing supports with prevention-focused peer connection.

Youth-serving programs

Youth centers, mentoring networks, and after-school programs bringing trusted connection to the young people they serve.

Faith & community networks

Congregations and community programs interested in extending care and connection to vulnerable young people.

Why this matters

Help-seeking often begins on a screen.

For many young people, the first move toward help happens online, quietly, before it reaches a trusted adult. Sponsored access helps make trusted human support easier to reach earlier, extending what counselors and staff already do.

Alongside, never in place of. Peer Chaperones provide prevention-focused peer connection that works with your counselors and clinical staff. Serious needs are routed toward appropriate support. The Initiative is not therapy, clinical treatment, diagnosis, crisis counseling, or emergency response.

What partnership supports

Prevention that fits your community.

Sponsored student access

Bring sponsored access to a district, school network, or program for a defined group of young people.

Safe, supervised support

Trained Peer Chaperones work within structured supervision, safety practices, and quality review.

Shared learning

Evaluation in partnership with UIC to understand engagement and what helps young people most.

How sponsored access works

Defined, safe, and measured.

Funding supports access for a defined group of students or young people, with scope set together up front, not open public enrollment.

1

Scope the group

We define which students or young people sponsored access reaches, and how it complements your staff.

2

Deliver trusted support

Chaperone Health, the operational delivery partner, provides supervised Peer Chaperone access.

3

Learn together

Shared measurement helps show what works for your community and where to improve.

Research & evaluation

Grounded in evidence.

Delivery runs on peer-support infrastructure from Chaperone Health, the operational delivery partner, with research and evaluation in partnership with the University of Illinois Chicago, so the model is studied honestly as it reaches more young people.

See Trust & Transparency

The Chaperone Initiative is not therapy, clinical treatment, diagnosis, crisis counseling, or emergency response. If you or a young person needs immediate help, call or text 988, or chat through the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. We never gate anyone in crisis behind a form.
